Before we officially say goodbye to summer vacation and hello to another busy academic schedule, it is time to take those last minute spontaneous trips that we thought about taking all summer long. With that being said, Colorado here I come. I’ll be ready for constant outdoor adventuring, and not only the exploration of new trails, but new trends as well.
The designer collections of this summer season have inspired the idea of creating fashionable statements that fit our personal styles by combining everyday casual-wear with activewear. I am very active as well as very passionate about health and fitness, so I use any excuse that I can find to fashionably turn it up a notch with my workout gear. Cynthia Rowley’s resort 2015 collection caught my eye this summer with her “retro-inspired” functional fitness wardrobe concept. Her collection involves the utilization of basic colors along with floral-patterned embellished pieces that are fashioned out of light and luxurious feeling fabric, ultimately creating activewear that is versatile for multiple occasions. I am a daily runner, ballet barre enthusiast and Fashionista who lives for both simplicity and comfort. Such a combination can make it difficult to find the perfect activewear that is both functional and versatile for all activities on my daily agenda throughout each season. Therefore, I made a conscious effort to find a way to turn my inspiration from this collection into a style of my own.
My style includes 90 Degrees patterned-pants that are styled with a solid-colored HEAD tank top that had a custom-long fit. While the patterned pants are the statement piece of my ensemble, it is styled with a white V-neck pullover that is too comfortable and flattering to not buy in a variety of colors. I completed this look with my favorite gray TOMS shoes and oversized Michael Kors sunglasses, which portrays the inspiration of the collection by combining my everyday casual-wear with my favorite activewear. Cynthia Rowley’s collection opened my eyes to a new way of creating the perfect comfortable, flexible, versatile and simple look that is not only functional but fashionable as well.
