Between finals and the holidays coming up, I try to keep it as casual as possible lately. I find it really easy to do so by layering. Since it is a bit chilly here in New York during December, layering comes in handy. Heading out in the morning for work or class, it is normally about 10 degrees colder than what it will be for the majority of the day. I find it easiest to layer with a sweater, cardigan or my current favorite, a leather jacket.
Most people think you need to spend serious cash on a leather jacket. The truth is there are tons of great options out there that won’t break the bank. The one I wear the most and that I am currently wearing for this look is from Blank NYC and was actually affordable––it was surprisingly under $100. I love the motorcycle jacket vibes this season so I couldn’t pass this one up. I am normally a sucker for gold hardware but I loved the silver details on the jacket.
Don’t get me wrong, a leather jacket is not the warmest but it can make any outfit effortlessly chic. I like to pair mine with a sweater or a chunky scarf. However for this look, I chose an oversized button down collared blouse tucked into some boyfriend jeans. Overall, I find this look casual, yet effortless with my leather jacket and block heels. I’d also like to add that this was a great hair day for me.
