With the weather cooling down comes the arrival of one of my favorite seasons, fall. Of course, with fall comes something that I covet even more, flannel season. Flannels are the perfect layering piece for fall. They’re great both as a stand-alone and to wear over your favorite tanks and tees, not to mention they’re super cute tied around your waist too.
To complete my take on this fall inspired look, I paired my oversized flannel with a suede high neck tank, both found at my favorite boutique in Lexington called Bluetique. To top things off, I added my signature choker and deep slit booties. By sticking to a neutral color tone, this look really resonates with a lot of the hues found in nature during the fall. To make things pop and not be too earthy, I decided to rock a deep red lip.
My favorite kind of flannel just happens to be of the oversized variety. What makes these so great is that they often work more as a jacket than a shirt. To not look like I’m swimming in plaid, I usually knot the front half of my flannels to make them appear a little more fitted.
Just because the temperature is dropping doesn’t mean that you have to start living in your leggings and sweatshirts to stay comfortable and warm. Flannels are perfect over your favorite t-shirts and make it appear as if you’ve put in the slightest effort even though you honestly haven’t. Try pairing your oversized flannel with your favorite t-shirt, jeans, and a comfortable pair of sneakers. Or at least that’s what you’ll likely find this Fashionista in all season.
