Now that summer is in full swing, I invite everyone to bring out his or her most gorgeous floral prints. The reality of the situation is that floral prints will never go out of style. They keep on reappearing in many runway shows, but one designer, Oscar de la Renta, always does it right! Oscar de la Renta’s spring 2015 collection started off in light pinks, whites and baby blues. The show consisted of very classic feminine silhouettes and beautiful floral details. White lace and floral prints slowly but surely showed up and were the stars of the show. The overall show radiated power and femininity. Every look showcased the birth of a dreamy summer goddess.
The collection can be compared to a garden full of color and ambience. Florals and floral lace were in almost every look of the collection. The specify look that inspired this outfit is a sheer white dress with a full skirt that is covered in floral appliqués. I took this look and the overall femininity of the show to create my outfit.
I attempted to compliment the theme of the show by incorporating a floral skirt and keeping the look feminine. I gravitated toward the masterpieces in midi length. This length has become such a modern trend; it is no longer just for people with modest concerns. By this, I mean, “look out grandma, I’m stealing your skirts!” For this look, I undoubtedly began with a floral midi skirt and added a white crop top with some lace detail. If Oscar de la Renta is alright with revealing a bit of midriff, then so am I. I completed the look with neutral colors to emphasize the beautiful floral print.
