Prints can make or break an outfit. Prints can decide whether the outfit can be worn to work or to the movies with your friends. In general, I stick to my all black ensembles—they go with anything and can be worn anywhere—however, lately I have geared more towards prints.
Taking inspiration from the Orla Kiely resort 2016 collection, I wore a floral printed jumpsuit to a birthday dinner with friends. Orla Kiely threw in lots of floral prints to her collection, creating a ‘60s and feminine vibe. Orla Kiely vamped up the classic dress with her prints. Although I did not stick to the color palette of the resort 2016 collection (give me time—for now it is enough that I’m not wearing all black) I wore a blue and black floral printed jumpsuit. Like the collection, I wore black shoes. This allowed for the print of the ensemble to take center stage and create a more casual vibe.
Orla Kiely reinvented the dress with her fun boho prints, and I aimed to do the same. Jumpsuit are pieces that have been in and out of trends for many years, but Free People reinvented the classic jumpsuit by using a soft material and creating it in a fun, young print. My outfit was complete with Steve Madden sandals that have a gold strap, and a lokai bracelet.
Get My Look: 1. Floral romper. 2. Sandals. 3. lokai bracelet.
