Wow, florals for summer? Yes, florals can be worn well past spring and are in fact trending! If I am not seen wearing one of my fifty black and white striped tops, I can be found trying to rock the florals. I was inspired by the Roberto Cavalli runway show. In particular, how he mixed florals and the ‘70s. With both florals and the ’70s in style, I decided to jump on the bandwagon and try out my own look.
To make this trend my own, I sifted through all my florals to find a larger print that gave off the “groovy” vibe. Being more of a monochrome girl, I stuck to a darker teal dress. The sheer deep V-cut in the front and and the open back gave the dress a modern twist that I love. To add to the ’70s side of things, I brought in a little suede with my favorite lace-up flats. I am obsessed with my lace-up flats, sometimes even basing my outfits solely around them. Lastly, to tie in the summer look I added a two-toned fedora hat. When school is in session I am often sporting a baseball cap. So, instead of the casual look I decided to dress it up with the fedora for a day that included brunch and shopping. I love the versatility of a floral. This outfit can easily go from day to night by adding a pop of color on the lips and trading in the fedora for a fun braided updo.
I am looking forward to a summer full of new florals and ’70s fun!
