What comes to mind when the summer season begins? Florals! Floral prints and patterns are an everlasting trend in virtually every season, but especially summertime! While scoping out Vogue’s website, I came across Tommy Hilfiger’s spring 2017 menswear collection which was rated one of the top highlighted runway shows. Most of the looks incorporated a floral print in some way. The pattern was used as lining in the hoods of jackets, on bags, shoes and hats. The Hilfiger Edition team reinvented preppy archived looks. A lot of these looks have an athletic vibe to them. I, not being the sportiest gal out there, felt the need to take my own spin on this floral trend.
I wanted to take a feminine approach to this look, so I decided to wear a floral printed dress from Urban Outfitters. Unfortunately, it’s sold out, but they always have tons of cute floral dresses all year round! Most of the time, I get mine when they go on sale or clearance, so you can get one for under fifty dollars.
I am obsessed with the bell sleeve on this dress. The vibe you get from this is a ’70s summer one! Although this dress has an intricate pattern, it could be so versatile. My favorite part of this dress however, is the cut out on the back. If you are uncomfortable with not wearing a bra, this dress could totally work with a cute bralette peeking through! Bringing the look from day to night by wearing a slick back pony tail, bright lipstick, and ditch the booties for some pumps, and you’re good to go!
