STYLE GURU STYLE: Fraying From Fall

Hey Fashionista/os! Today I’ll be featuring my own personal style for fall. Living in Southern California, our expectations of fall weather and attire is merely just ideas from what we see online. Being a few weeks into the fall season, we are still experiencing high 90 degree weather each day. As much as I wish I could be wearing the perfect oversized sweater with knee-high boots and everything else typically associated with fall, I’ll patiently wait until our winter to feature such an outfit.

So now that you’re no longer wondering how I could comfortably wear this light and breezy outfit in fall, I’ll begin going into more detail about my overall outfit and style. I guess you could say that I’m trying something new this fall. Normally you could catch me rocking all black any time of the year, however now that it’s actually fashionably understood to match black on black, I’m fraying away from the expected. Lately, I’ve been testing out colors such as white and even a touch of pink. Fortunately though you can’t see my hot pink socks too much in this photo that were embarrassingly protruding through my flats throughout the school day. I was about to leave my house with my overused black kimono on top of my white T-shirt dress. Last minute before I dashed out the door I decided to try swapping it out with this white sheer kimono that I found at Forever 21. I topped off the outfit with some strappy black flats that I thought were a perfect transition from summer to fall. Lastly, of course my staple black floppy hat that seems to make it into almost every one of my Style Guru Style posts, had to make another comeback.

Not only is this outfit perfect for fall in my area and slightly different from the standard trends of fall, but it’s one of the most comfortable ensembles I’ve ever put together. With that being said, this outfit embodies me in every way. I want to thank you all for reading! But before I go, I want to encourage you to try experimenting with various looks when it comes to fashion, especially since we are now just entering a new season. You’ll never know what kind of looks you’ll stumble upon and end up really liking.
