Spring is here and it’s finally time to add some color to our wardrobes! I know, colors for spring, groundbreaking right? But, after the long winter months of wearing nothing but neutrals, it might be fun to spice up your life with some color!
Although the fall 2016 runway shows were recent, I chose to get my inspiration from Tommy Hilfiger’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. If you are any average person with an Instagram, I’m sure you saw this island-inspired collection that featured Gigi Hadid in crochet swimwear. The entire collection projected boho vibes with aztec prints, crochet crop tops and vibrant accessories. The runway was transformed into a boardwalk complete with a beach bar and a blue lagoon. What better way to kick off the spring season than a island party as great at Tommy Hilfiger’s runway show?
Since not all of us want to walk around campus in a crochet bikini, I took inspiration from this collection and translated it into everyday life. I decided my distressed boyfriend jeans fit well with the laid-back, vacation theme. My white V-neck with cutouts paired perfectly with my multi-colored tribal necklace. Lastly, I added my red oxford heels and green fringe bag to complete the boho look. It was so simple to take an outfit that most of us wear every day, a white V-neck and jeans, and add the right accessories to transform it into the perfect spring/summer look.
