Greetings Fashionistas! With next month bringing Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week once again, I’ve begun to look at some of the pre-fall collections in preparation to see what will be coming down the runway. With the freezing temperatures I am experiencing while on break in Pittsburgh, I am always looking for warm, stylish ways to transform my outdoor winter look. While looking at Thom Browne’s pre-fall collection, I loved the fur elements on some of his coats. The color palette was full of neutrals, which makes it easy to add pops of color with scarves, gloves and hats.
I decided to incorporate a fur element into my winter wardrobe for a change to my usual below-temperature attire. I have always fantasized about wearing one of those large Russian fur hats; they just seem so fabulous. To my surprise, Target offered a limited-edition faux fur head wrap that allowed me to pull off a similar look!
At the moment, I love army green colors as neutrals. In my opinion almost every color can be flawlessly paired with it, but it is so much more interesting than basic black, grey or beige. I used an army green Michael Kors puffer jacket as a base for the rest of my outfit. After experiencing walking through blustering cold temperatures across campus, I prefer to have my winter jackets knee length! I paired this with my favorite winter staple: Hunter Boots. What’s great about Hunter Boots is that they can be dressed up or down, so they are able to be paired with such a wide variety of looks. I would recommend everyone to own a pair! I added a great pewter colored Kenneth Cole Reaction cross body bag, as well as a burnt orange and cheetah print scarf. The colors are without a doubt my favorite aspect of this look. Army green, black, pewter and burnt orange; these colors are a great way to rethink a neutral color palette! To finish the look, I threw on my favorite tortoiseshell sunglasses. Sunglasses are one of my all time favorite accessories! The final look is a chic winter ensemble you can rock all winter long!
