Beyond her killer album Anti, Rihanna is slaying the fashion world. She is constantly changing the game and is my biggest fashion inspiration. In her 2016 fall ready-to-wear Fenty x Puma collection, she features tons of fur, mesh, thigh-high boxing boots, lace-up maxi dresses and oversized graphic sweatshirts all in black and white. The collection will be available this fall and, in the meantime, I am trying to contain myself.
Sheer garments have been huge lately and I am seeing it everywhere. It is a sultry trend but it is possible to rock sheer clothes without baring it all. I am wearing a sheer mesh black T-shirt from Missguided, a drawstring waist skirt from Forever 21, a thick black suede choker from Free People and white faux fur Fenty x Puma slides from Rihanna’s collection. This is a very sporty, street wear look. I’m drawing inspiration from the sheer dresses in the collection. I wore a black bandeau under my top because I’m not as brave as Rihanna, if you know what I mean. I threw on a sporty skirt with pockets (because every girl loves pockets) and slipped on the white furry slides and it was the easiest thing I’ve ever done. I love anything furry so these shoes are a must-have for me. I love the combination of punk black mesh with girly white fluff. This is a super trendy look, but I think faux fur and sheer clothes are here to stay for a little—or at least through fall 2016 when Rihanna’s collection drops.
