Some Fashionistas come up with outfits where every piece stands out for itself. As for me. I usually select a statement piece to focus on and then just add secondary items. This time the inspiration came from Rodarte’s Spring 2015 ready-to-wear runway and the statement piece was the gladiator inspired sandal. Eye catching and funky, yet also elegant and sophisticated. Interestingly enough I was very against this type of footwear for the longest time, but fashion just has a way to win me over again and again.
Due to the fact that I’m a college student with part time income the Rodarte ones will have to wait for now. Instead I found a beautiful and affordable alternative in these Steve Madden “Sammson” gladiators. Not only are they comfortable but the strappy design allows you to adjust them to different types of legs. I paired these babies with a white tank top from H&M, as well as a pair of American Eagle Outfitters ripped jean shorts and a green and blue flannel from the same store. The interesting thing about this particular flannel? I got it from the men’s department!
The finishing touch was a pair of black Ray-Ban Wayfarers which are perfect for any season and occasion. I also complemented the look with a high half ponytail as well as a red lipstain from Revlon. Casual, comfortable and totally #RAD. These are some of the terms that I would use to describe my look and once again comfort and style blended perfectly.
