At the beginning of the semester, many of us have these aspirations to wake up early, make ourselves a healthy breakfast and look nice, all before our 8:00 a.m.’s. That lasts for about three days, and then we discover how friendly the snooze button is—and we are back to being a hot mess in the morning.
Gone are the aspirations to dress cute, and all we want to wear that early in the morning is our favorite jeans and sweatpants. That leads me to the inspiration for the featured outfit. With comfort being the goal, I started with my favorite dark-washed skinny jeans and cuffed them to add a little detail. The over-sized white shirt is super soft and makes you feel like you are still wearing your pajamas.
Since every building on my campus seems to blast the air conditioning, I needed a jacket. The denim-on-denim look, also known as a “Canadian Tuxedo,” has been seen a lot as the ’90s are making a reappearance in fashion. A jean jacket is warm but not too warm, and this specific one from Forever 21 is soft enough—so you can still move your arms. This jacket has been a staple in my closet and makes an outfit look relaxed and a little tailored at the same time. It pretty much goes with anything, and that is a great item to have when you are picking out an outfit for your 8:00 a.m. class.
I pretty much wear the same necklace and bracelets everyday. They add a little personality and color, but each piece has a personal meaning and gives me a little confidence boost. The final touch is the turquoise suede sneakers that I have had longer than I want to admit. They give a little more color to the blue and white look.
I hope this gave you ideas for a simple outfit early in the morning.
