STYLE GURU STYLE: Good Vibes Only

Denim, suede and corduroy, oh my! Several ‘70s-inspired looks ruled the runway for many big designers like Calvin Klein, Chloé and alice + olivia. Out of overflowing abundance of chic that’s so ‘70s looks, Frame Denim stole the show with their fall 2015 ready-to-wear line. The collection was filled with copious amounts of cool fall colors, along with earthy tones and textures like denim, suede and corduroy. Frame Denim’s line featured key pieces like high-waisted jeans, bell bottoms, A-line skirts and beautiful print blouses to name a few.

Instead of focusing on one specific look from the Frame Denim line, I chose to mix and match my outfit based off of the entire fall collection. Since texture and color were two major components, I tried my best to carry that across when styling my look. Starting with my blouse, the color that seemed the strongest out of the entire collection was burgundy. I found this classic corduroy skirt with square pocket detail and knew it was exactly what I was looking for, and together the two paired perfectly. To try and accentuate the earthy tones and textures throughout my ensemble I added gold cuffs and a brown cross-body bag with subtle gold detail. For the final touch I wore my favorite new ankle booties that really polished and pulled the entire look together.

I never thought I’d be a fan of corduroy, let alone a corduroy skirt until this fall. Seeing all the ‘70s-inspired looks sparked something in me to try out this old yet new again trend, and I absolutely love that I did.

Get My Look: 1. Burgundy blouse. 2. Corduroy skirt. 3. Brown ankle booties.
