I thought I was in heaven when sneakers became the trendy shoe pick a few seasons ago, and now that vans are back my inner seventh grader is screaming. I have been loving pairing my vans, and sneakers in general, with more girly and edgy elements (like this top and fish net socks.) I love the contrast between the sporty and casual vans vibe with a dressier or more feminine piece in a look. Plus, they are comfortable and cool, what more could a girl ask for?
For this look I mixed this wrap top with casual ripped high waisted denim and vans with fish net socks. I have been obsessed with fish net socks as of lately. My favorite colors are black and nude to try out so far. I normally rock them with sneakers like I did in this look, or let them peek out over booties. They make the most simplistic outfits automatically a little edgier and interesting. The lustrous finish on both my top and purse compliment each other in an unexpected way. This Rebecca Minkoff handbag is my go-to. Even though it is a rather sparkly bag I find it goes with way more than one would originally think. You could wear all black, joggers, tennis shoes, dress up, etc., and this bag automatically makes your outfit look a little cooler.
I have been obsessed with incorporating multiple different textures and finishes in my outfits lately. You can get away with mix matching items you wouldn’t typically pair while still looking put together and stylish.
This look can be perfect for a day date, a casual outing with some friends, or even a concert. At the same time, this look can easily be transformed appropriately for the nighttime. Swap these Vans for a pair of black pumps and you are good to go. If you’re not a fan of heels, black high-waisted, wide-legged trousers would completely change the vibe of this ensemble and dress it up a little also.
