The Hermès resort 2017 collection boasted a wide variety of simplistic masterpieces. Inspired by a woman’s daily wardrobe and a floral painting from the Netherlands, the collection gives attention to muted hues in relaxed silhouettes. This show featured some thirty looks that all came together in an ode to genteel, everyday women’s wear. Creative director, Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski does well to blend the bold and the meek while upholding the class of the Hermès brand.
Monochromatic ensembles automatically elevate the impact of a look. Taking inspiration from the Hermes show, I put together an outfit of my favorite hue: blush. The idea came to me when I saw look number five. The model wears a yellow blouse, a yellow belt and yellow wide-legged trousers. The pieces are very different, yet they all come together seamlessly in the same hue.
Another aspect of the collection that I appreciated was the relaxed fit of the clothing. None of the looks shown were tight or constricting. Quite frankly, there is nothing better than being cute and comfortable, which is why I decided to portray this in my outfit as well.
To start out my outfit, I wore my favorite pair of rayon blush pants. Then, I added a loose, three-quarter length sleeve, deep V-neck top in the same hue. Wear a top that’s one size up or find them in a looser fabric like rayon or linen. For my shoes, I wore my latest buy from the Zara Collection: a pair of cream, faux leather loafers. Lastly, I carried my quilted leather bag from ALDO, and finished the look with some round black sunglasses and warm metal jewelry.
Get My Look: 1. A pair of loose fitting pants. 2. A top in the same hue. 3. Neutral flat shoes. 4. Any metallic necklace.
