Even though spring is in full swing, I have started to keep my eye on the upcoming fall trends of 2016. One element that is always incorporated into my outfits is black, and more specifically, high neck lines in this color. For the fall I have high hopes of darker colors and higher necklines.
The ready-to-wear Vogue collection that inspired my thoughts on these trends was the Valentino collection. Each outfit incorporates a high neck article of clothing while multiple layers accent that high neck. I incorporated this trend into my own look with the high neck cropped black top. I was especially motivated by look number two. The ensemble gives off a gothic vibe yet is so simple it could be worn for almost any occasion.
To channel this look with the spring time temperatures in Missouri, I eliminated any layers I might wear for cooler months. I wore my favorite article from my closet, a high neck black crop top. This top is light in weight so it’s the perfect touch to any outfit during any season and is very versatile as well!
I chose to wear high waisted blue jeans for a more toned down and relaxed look, but an even better option would be high waisted black jeans! To add to my outfit, I threw on a backpack purse in black. To finish off my look, I wore black platforms for an edgier, yet classic feel. For a more gothic look, black combat boots as featured on the model would be perfect. As resembling the models, I wore minimal makeup, making sure all attention was centered on each element of my outfit.
