As a preppy Fashionista, when I first came across this trend, I didn’t think I would be able to pull off such an old-school style. But since I bought my first high-neck top, I’ve purchased several additional tops and dresses in the same style! I am officially sold on this look and was inspired by the help of the Fendi resort collection and the beautiful bold colors that are featured. Once I was eased into the idea of the trend, I became addicted to the fashion-forward style.
In today’s STYLE GURU STYLE article, I am showing off my adorable high-neckline dress from Forever 21. I have purchased other dresses in this particular style from both high end and more affordable brands.
I made this trendy look my own by grabbing a dress that was bright and colorful, because even though half my closet is black and gray, the other half looks like Barbie threw up in it. This dress has such a fun pattern, and the colors scream summer. I paired this dress with my go-to Target wedges because I can pretty much pair them with anything! I also stacked a few gold bracelets from J.Crew, kate spade and HandPicked. I decided to stay away from adding a necklace and let the dress do all the talking. To give this runway trend a Southern belle flair, I added classic curls to complete my look.
This trend is so perfect for a night out or to wear for a fun day event! I love the effortless, chic look that it gives off. I have seen many high-neck clothing items that are more targeted for the Brandy Melville type of shopper (which I still love), but this Forever 21 dress was made specifically for the bright girly girls who are still trend obsessed.
