Who says sweat can’t be stylish? I love working out, eating well, and staying active. Personal fitness is extremely important to me— as is having the wardrobe to accompany this healthy lifestyle. Feeling strong and powerful translates to the beauty and fashion worlds. Expressing yourself definitely doesn’t have to stop when getting ready for the gym. Wearing clothes you feel confident and stylish in can improve your workout experience!
With the constantly increasing popularity of staying healthy, there are always new trends emerging – both in fashion and fitness. Celebrities including Carrie Underwood and Kate Hudson have launched their own active wear lines. Personally, I have found inspiration in Stella McCartney’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection for adidas.
In this outfit, I combine layering, edge, comfort, and a form-fitting silhouette, similar to the outfits found in McCartney’s collection. As I’ve mentioned, I’m a huge fan of the color black. It’s hard for me to go a day without wearing this staple color. I love this outfit specifically because of the edgy mesh leggings. While the material is perfect for the gym, they are an extremely versatile piece and can be dressed up for going out. Layering the loose, lightweight tank with a cozy hoodie adds depth and texture to the ensemble.
Last, but certainly not least: the shoes. As in McCartney’s collection, I complemented this active get-up with a bright pair of two-tone sneakers. They add just the right amount of bold color. My hair can always be found in a high topknot. Working out is no exception. I have found that headbands are a cute an easy way to turn a messy topknot into a more appropriate and comfortable hair-do when breaking a sweat.
Style can be transcended to all facets of daily life, including the gym. While it may not seem like the most glamorous place to show off new trends, feeling good about yourself will help you gain confidence and strength inside and out.
