I love Valentine’s day. I love the idea that you get to spread love for the whole day and just radiate positivity. A day where you can eat an endless amount of chocolate and no one will question it. I also love spending the day with friends, the people who I truly care about and that love me because they have seen the good, the bad, and undoubtedly—the ugly. Plus, coming from someone who doesn’t like to stray from the neutral color palette, it’s a new experience for me on a day when I can venture off from it.
For this look, I was inspired by the loving holiday and CollegeFashionista’s February mood board. I’m in love with the color black and it is an unbreakable relationship. However, since it was Valentines’ day, I decided to add some pink. I started the look off with the ever so helpful black skinny jean. I wore a pale pink tank top because it doesn’t over power the look, but flows with it. Over the shirt, I paired it with a classic moto jacket. It gives off a hardcore and grungy chic look. To contrast the hardcore lines in the outfit from the jacket, I wore some pink and coral espadrilles. For the accessories, I chose to go light with some silver rings, earrings, and a necklace. I then added a thin-strap pink watch on my wrist. I like this look for a casual afternoon date or just going to dinner with a couple of friends at your campus’s best restaurant (for our college budget of course). I paired this look with a simple, clean eye and a faded pink lip. I didn’t want to draw all of the attention to my lips, but make them look a little warmer.
Regardless of the holiday, February is a beautiful month that is leading into spring after a cold and snowy January. Slowly adding some pastel colors into your look would make a difference in not only your look, but also in the hopefulness that there will be more sunshine and warmth coming your way.
