STYLE GURU STYLE: International Love With Graphics

The heat is on this week, and it seems as though there is nowhere for the temperature to go but up. The hotter it gets the less we all like to wear and the more we want express our individual styles. The white T-shirt is a timeless classic and suites every Fashionista/o’s style. The white T-shirt can easily be altered to keep up with the latest trend with a few graphics. There is literally a graphic T-shirt out there for every popular phrase and city from around the world. We can just take our pick and let our imaginations run wild while our outfits keep trending.

This week, I took inspiration from the Dsquared² spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection and I had some fun with the classic white T-shirt as well. In the Dsquared² collection, they combined crisp white boxy T-shirts with bright yellow, green and pink bottoms. I stuck to the same color palette and chose to pair my boxy white T-shirt with an olive green skirt. Like Dsquared², I was going for a bold, casual-chic look.

I am in love with the way that Dsquared² incorporated texture into the collection. Look nine stood out to me the most because the model was wearing a white, boxy T-shirt that had rainbow stripes that were also embellished with sequins. The model’s skirt was yellow and full of feathers. The fun texture inspired me to wear my wrap skirt because I felt like the texture balanced well with my T-shirt. Overall, my look was visually pleasing in a way that was similar to the model in look nine.

My outfit consisted of a graphic, boxy T-shirt from Forever 21 that was draped over an olive green wrap skirt. To make my outfit pop, I decided to wear my orange perforated espadrille flats. My outfit was fun and trendy like Dsquared²’s entire spring collection.

The white T-shirt will always be a classic, but once you add some graphics to your classic shirt, you are making a statement for your entire outfit and that statement will fit right into the latest trend.

Get My Look: 1. Any boxy, graphic T-shirt. 2. An olive green asymmetrical wrap skirt. 3. A brightly colored pair of perforated espadrille flats.
