For this look, I decided to take inspiration from the Max Mara resort 2017 runway show. The way they incorporated the same bold colors in each of the looks really caught my attention. I also loved the simplicity of the entire collection and how their theme was businesslike. For a soon-to-be college graduate like myself, I think it’s important to get an understanding for the business style. However, I decided to switch it up a bit and take a casual approach to my look.
Any chance I get to style a leather skirt, I will take, so I decided to make it the focal point of this entire look. I paired this skirt with one of my all-time favorite cami’s from Express which, by the way, is a reversible top. Then, instead of giving this look the full on dressed up vibe, I wanted to turn it down a notch. I grabbed my New Balance tennis shoes I got from J. Crew, and was surprised with how well it all worked together. I kept the accessories simple by only adding a gold cuff bracelet and a black leather wristlet. To finish the look off—and give it a pop of color—I put on a bright pink lipstick.
Creating a look like this is all about being confident in your style and trying new things. Don’t be afraid to mix the same colors with one another or pair your favorite sneakers with a dress for a laid-back style. The end results of your look may surprise you!
