STYLE GURU STYLE: It's Always Sunny

Christian Siriano’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection was inspired by a dream trip to the Congo rain forest. Siriano worked with many different patterns and textiles in order to create a series of tropical themed multidimensional pieces. To recreate a look of my own, I took inspiration from the ball gowns made of floral printed taffeta. The combination of the deep colors and traditional silhouettes were stunning.

Because my style is more laid back, I took a more casual approach when creating my outfit. I felt that this sundress from Urban Outfitters mimicked the gowns from Siriano’s collection. I love this shift dress because its dark color makes it an easy piece to wear during any season (I’ve worn it both in the fall and summer).

I think it’s pretty clear that I love my knee-high socks, as I’ve worn them in a few of my past articles. I never thought that they’d be a cool accessory to wear to help transition my wardrobe from winter to spring. However, I’ve found myself wearing them a lot when it’s sunny outside but still a little chilly. I thought that they would add an unexpected element to my outfit, and they fit in with the darker tones of my color palette. So I paired them with my cognac ankle boots that I got from a local thrift store. My clutch added a bit of texture and sparkle to the look. It’s my favorite bag to use when I have a special event or dinner to go to. I kept the rest of my accessories simple. I finished the look with my favorite double-layered gold chain necklace, a statement ring and blue, mirrored round sunglasses.

Get My Look: 1. A floral print dress. 2. Knee-high socks. 3. Cool sunglasses.
