There is nothing I love more than having a high-fashion look that can be transitioned into an everyday outfit. When I first saw the various looks from Yves Saint Laurent fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, I instantly fell in love. Every model pushed the ’80s shoulder, donned in sequins with plunging necklines and sheer tights. The pieces that I could not get enough of were the multiple jumpsuits throughout the entire collection. Each model was effortless and looked completely at ease in their outfit.
I recently purchased a baby blue backless jumpsuit and I am truly obsessed. The jumpsuit itself is simple, but still remains to be a show stopper. It comes in handy for a night out or can be styled down and worn during the day. It is a dressier look, but completely comfortable. When looking at different jumpsuits, I want to make sure that I am able to move around and still able to go about my day. However, I do not have preferences when it comes to patterns or colors with jumpsuits.
For the perfect night on the town look, I paired the jumpsuit with a small heel. For an edgier look, I layered gold chain necklaces with a gold choker necklace. I normally would not have worn a necklace with the jumpsuit and would have paired a pair of earrings with it, but I love the contrasting feeling of the metals with the soft baby blue color. In addition to the necklaces, I wore an iridescent, chunky cuff to tie the different metals in with the color of the jumpsuit. To finish off the look I added a neutral bag to hold onto the essentials for the night.
If you were looking for more of a daytime look, I would get rid of the necklaces and swap for a pair of subtle earrings. I would let the back of the jumpsuit be that statement and throw on a pair of gladiator sandals. This look is perfect for the summer season and could even be worn into the fall with a simple jacket thrown over it. I could wear this outfit anywhere and will definitely be adding more jumpsuits into my wardrobe.
