Although the hype of fashion week has died down, the influence of the season’s latest designs are present in Fashionistas’ outfits all across campus. Tassels, feathers and other emerging trends have become the staples of this season’s trends. While their pre-fall 2015 collection was a little too heavy on whites and khakis, Ralph Lauren’s spring ready-to-wear selections are simply inspired. Adding bright, bold colors to their classic cargo looks, Ralph Lauren creates a line that is both true to their brand and perfect for this season’s festivities.
For my look, I channeled one of my personal favorite looks from Ralph Lauren’s spring ready-to-wear collection. With my black jumpsuit, tan wedges and cream clutch, I mirror the collection’s color and style parameters. I altered the look they created slightly so that it was more appropriate for warm weather by choosing a sleeveless jumpsuit and sunglasses. My favorite part of this look, though, is my vintage clutch purse. I was lucky enough to discover this clutch while wandering through the French Quarter in New Orleans. This beaded clutch adds an air of elegance to even the most basic of outfits. My clutch, wedges and sunglasses are the perfect accessories to complement my black jumpsuit.
When creating a runway-inspired look, remember that you are always able to add your own personal touches. Fashion week is a great time to see new pieces from many amazing designers and to get a sneak peak at all the season’s upcoming trends. Mix and match your favorite designs to create a look that is all your own.
