The end of the semester is here my fashionable people, and that means we are so close to summer that I can practically taste the lemonade already. But for me, it also means graduation and a scary new chapter called the future. It can be a weird transition—how does one adult? Am I an adult? One question that isn’t scary and I will always know the answer to is what to wear, and that is a soothing thought. Despite the craziness, a good outfit can always sass up my mood. A jumpsuit is the perfect solution to my outfit woes that gives me one less thing to worry about.
When summertime rolls around, it can be a challenge to want to put yourself together in the morning. It is so much easier to throw on a tank top and some cut-off shorts than it is to give that effort. But what if there was a easy breezy answer to that? It lies in the magical invention called a jumpsuit. Throw one on and you look put together, but with minimal effort, which is what we always want. For this look I took some inspiration from J.Crew’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear line which is full of cropped hems in rich colors and fun details, which always give that quirky J.Crew look. I took a more minimal approach to J.Crew’s styling and let my key pieces speak for themselves. This burnt orange cropped jumpsuit becomes the star of the show with its clean details it looks fresh, but not like you’re trying too hard. An effortless cool girl style which fits perfect for those summertime vibes. I paired with my go-to leather jacket, perfect for unpredictable weather and to add that bad girl edge and then a fringe bag to get that boho attitude. For the finishing touch, I wore my adidas Stan Smith’s, a classic that ups the chic level to editor status instantly. It added that funky detail that made the look more fun and less serious overall.
As my semester wraps up and my time as a Style Guru comes to a close I cannot help but get sentimental for the goodbye. The things I’ve learned, people I’ve met and all of the things I’ve got to experience I will never forget and will always be thankful for. Being able to be myself and write some super sassy articles for the past three semesters has been one of my favorite parts of college. Never be afraid to dress as boldy as you want, and be yourself always. Signing out, love you all.
