STYLE GURU STYLE: Kiss And Pastel

Hello, readers! It’s another beautiful summer day and another excuse to get all dressed up again. I was inspired by Rebecca Minkoff’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. Particularly, I enjoyed her use of soft pastels in earthy tones for a breezy and romantic look this season. Minkoff found inspiration in Turbeville’s photography, adding bohemian accents to the collection.

For the summertime, I highly recommend buying a simple little white dress, or LWD. It’s such a versatile piece that can be dressed up or down, depending on your outing. I got mine at a local thrift shop. The material feels like canvas linen, which is nice since the dress maintains its structure even on windy days. I won’t really have to worry about having a Marilyn Monroe moment in this dress.

I don’t think there’s been a single day during this summer vacation where I’ve left my house without my sunglasses. My current favorite pair are these silver John Lennon-style sunglasses. I’ve been digging the vintage ’60s vibe lately.

The key item of this entire outfit has to be the pastel geometric-printed kimono. Truth be told, when I bought it at Aeropostale, I thought it was a scarf at first. Upon further examination, I realized it had arm holes. To this day, I’m not entirely sure of the garment’s exact name. For the sake of the article, we’ll just call it a kimono.

Interestingly enough, I discovered this LOFT belt deep within my closet just a couple days before these photos were taken. The peach and black palette just happened to match perfectly with the colors of the kimono. It really pulled the entire look together.

Get My Look: 1. Little white dress. 2. Pastel scarf-kimono. 3. White wedges.
