I’ve always been a sucker for two things—leather and legs. My absolute favorite is creating a look using leather pieces while also accentuating my legs, which I often do by throwing on one of my many pairs of heels or wedges. I completely love creating an edgy look while also allowing my femininity to shine through in subtle ways.
My look was inspired by the Alexandre Vauthier fall 2015 couture collection. I found this collection very fascinating because of the way that Vauthier created a blend of classic and grunge. Just like I recreated in my outfit, Vauthier used a lot of leather pieces, which he pieced together with dresses and skirts, giving the looks a feminine touch.
I think that a leather jacket can be used to bring a touch of edginess to any look, which is why it is definitely a staple in my closet. Something I also channeled in my outfit from Vauthier’s collection was his use of solid colors with random bursts of color mixed in. By piecing together my black leather jacket with a dress containing a pop of color, I thought it would definitely bring a feminine side to an otherwise edgy look. Along with my outfit, I added a pair of black suede wedges and my tweed backpack, two of my essentials for this fall.
Whether you’re out running errands, running to class or heading to a fun night out with the girls, this is a great and easily duplicated look.
