The Polo Ralph Lauren fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection has a look for everyone. The collection ranges from Lauren’s original pops of color to menswear-inspired pieces and features hints of leather and suede throughout. This show had me dreaming of the olives and maroons of fall, but those palettes are expected. What really stood out to me was the five all-white and -cream looks that seemed to fit effortlessly into the collection. Lauren perfected the concept of winter white with shades of cream and brown, a little Aztec print, chunky belts and suede boots.
Over the past couple of seasons, white after Labor Day has not only become acceptable, but encouraged. Of course, it looks amazing on the runway, but it is a hard concept to get use to, especially because we have been told otherwise for so long. I always think it looks great on other people, so I decided to try it out myself with a little inspiration from Mr. Lauren.
I found the perfect combination of pieces in my closet to embody Lauren’s collection. All of the pieces are a different color, but are similar enough to achieve the winter-white look. To keep a monochromatic outfit interesting, you have to add some texture. The fuzziness of my sweater and the wooly feel of my coat were the perfect balance to my white denim pants. I finished off the look with a pair of brown riding boots.
Get My Look: 1. A fuzzy knit. 2. White denim. 3. Tall brown boots.
