STYLE GURU STYLE: Let's Vogue About It

Achieving the perfect outfit means finding the right pieces that will make a statement. As Fashionista’s in college, we only have a limited cash flow that can be spent on accessories and clothing. So I’m going to help you spend your money on the right additions to your closet. My inspiration?Rebecca Minkoff’s Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear collection. This line is the perfect mixture of hippie and bohemian fashion. Her earth tone color pallet and long knit sweaters make for the perfect transition into colder weather.

The season always has a huge impact on what you decide to wear and it’s important to update your wardrobe to match the latest trends. One thing you’ll notice when looking ar Rebecca’s collection is ever outfit is paired with an adorable boot. You have leather boots, booties, ankle or knee length and suede. The options are endless but you need to choose a pair that is not only versatile but stylish. I recently bought these suede Chelsea boots and I am in love! The tan faux suede pairs with any item. I particularly like to wear them with denim pants cuffed at the ankle or a shift dress with a leather or denim jacket.

Another important piece is the classic T-shirt. Graphic T-shirts can either be stylish or obnoxious so choosing the right one is imperative. My black and white “More Issues than Vogue” top is classic, funny and fashionable. I chose to pair it with a gray-green long cardigan that has been one of my fall favorites. The inspiration came from look four’s cable knit cardigan. I finished it off with simple black denim jeans that are stretch fit making them so comfortable.

Remember, you want to buy pieces that are versatile and easy to pair with patterns and other colors. Stick with neutrals when you’re buying items such as shoes and cardigans. It’s a decision you won’t regret.
