Thank goodness it’s finally summer! Truly, school days are gone. Those group projects, essays and exams piling up each week are over. It’s time for endless summer days of relaxation! To get you even more pumped for summer, try on the many cute trends and looks during these warm upcoming months.
In Rachel Comey’s pre-fall 2016 collection is everything you need for this upcoming summer season! Her collection is all about keeping the light and breezy feel of summer with a twist of modern dark tones. Her looks were described as “feminine,” “rustic” and “pioneer” by Vogue writer, Maya Singer. Out of all her unique looks, my absolute favourite, which inspired my look was the blue denim button-down and a pair of black denim jeans. The models showcase her “feminine rustic” goal exceptionally well in this look. In this look, she mixes chambray with darker ripped jeans and eccentric shoes. She strings together all these very different pieces together to make the perfect summer outfit!
I styled my outfit to make this unique twist of feminine and rustic into an everyday look that you can recreate for yourself. The two main pieces of this look that resemble Comey’s collection was my chambray shirt and black lace shorts. The combination of a light and dark color contrast transcends in the rustic chambray shirt and feminine, yet edgy lace shorts. Plus, this ensemble showcases this runway trend into a cute everyday look.
To spice things up, I added my unique twist by adding a simple white teardrop necklace and trendy gold and cork sandals. This look is extremely comfortable, yet chic for any hot summer day! I hope this look inspires you to go out of your comfort zone and try something new this summer.
