Happy Thursday! Let’s #TBT to a year ago when the Donna Karan fall 2014 ready-to-wear collection had just appeared on the runway at New York Fashion Week. I fell in love with this impeccably tailored, chromatically simplistic line. Just about every look in the collection was completely monochromatic, which allowed me to focus on the incredible details and beautiful craftsmanship of each garment, as well as the styling of each model. Of course, true to form, my favorites were the all-black looks.
Inspired by this line, I went ahead and styled my own all-black outfit. I started with my favorite black skinny jeans and then added a vintage t-shirt on top. I love this shirt because it has seams that make it more fitted and reflect the detailed tailoring of the Donna Karan collection.
Monochromatic looks pack a punch, so you can keep the accessories simple. For this look, I wore my classic black suede chelsea boots and a leather satchel. Keeping with the all-black theme, I threw on my fur-trimmed black coat. With respect to jewelry, I decided to go for a minimalistic vibe with this silver collar necklace.
Black is always classic and elegant, so why should you only wear all-black in winter? I love a monochromatic look that includes versatile basics like this because it can be adapted to any season. Ditch your coat and boots and instead go for some strappy sandals and you have a perfect outfit for warmer weather.
