As the final days of summer are upon us, some have already moved back to their college towns. I have found myself being inspired to take full advantage of the long days and warm weather. Lately, I have loved loose dresses and light summer colors. The Mother of Pearl resort 2016 collection is a beautiful example of the colors, shapes and textures I have been after lately. Not only do I love this collection for its beautiful colors and lines, but also the feminine vintage feel of the line is incredible.
The Mother of Pearl resort 2016 collection features an array of beautiful soft colors. My favorite parts of this collection are the shapes and lines. These elements establish a vintage-inspired feel with a modern twist. The collection also puts emphasis on small floral prints, which carries the vintage feel throughout the line. This Mother of Pearl collection perfectly captures the vintage style I have loved lately and I couldn’t wait to create my look!
I started out with a vintage dress that I snagged recently at a consignment shop. The loose shape of the dress is perfect for summer weather and it has my favorite detail, pockets! Next, I added my floral Dooney & Bourke handle bag. I made sure to add this bag because I wanted to incorporate the small floral prints seen in the Mother of Pearl collection. Other than my bag I kept my accessories simple. I added a small pair of gold earrings and a simple milkmaid braid to carry out the feminine vibe of the collection.
I loved this collection and will definitely continue to play around with looks that are inspired by this line!
