With midterms coming to an end and spring drawing near, we’re all ready for some fun in the sun. Even the fashion community has told us it’s ready for the new season. All over the runaway, I’ve seen florals, jean and fringe galore. This spring is going to be a fun one for the Fashionistas/os of the world.
As I watched the spring fashion shows, I noticed the risks taken and the styles from the past brought back to life, with my favorite being the Louis Vuitton spring 2016 ready-to-wear show. Nicolas Ghesquiere showed everything from moto jackets to beaded knits, epic metal skirts to leather. His dare to do the impossible was clearly visible in this new, digital style. I only wished to replicate the incredible pieces in my everyday wardrobe.
Then I saw it; my favorite look of the collection, an all-leather, red and white striped dress printed with the LV logo. It felt like one of those pieces you knew you could only look at but not touch. Immediately, I noticed I owned white, pointed oxfords like the ones in the piece and a leather skirt, and I felt drawn to mimic the look.
I summoned my inner Louis Vuitton diva by pairing my leather mini skirt with a white, turtleneck top. To bring the look together, I threw on my favorite light wash jean jacket and a pair of white, cutout oxfords. To accessorize, I wore my favorite Alex and Ani bracelets.
This just goes to show that there will always be pieces in your closet to recreate your favorite new collections.
