If you know me, you know that I am the biggest fan of neutral colors. I also have been known to rock classic pieces that will obviously never go out of style.
I was thrilled to be able to find a runway show from one of my favorite brands, Madewell. Their fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection was a chic mix of basic colors, fun patterns and lots of denim. This collection definitely did not disappoint! It contained slouchy, baggy pieces which are somewhat different for Madewell. Generally, they stick to dressier options, but I love that they are approaching this fall with a bit of a twist. More boyish looks are also rare for this brand, but I completely fell in love: lots of long scarves, distressed pants and baggy button-up shirts. Totally up my alley! Their use of combining plaids and patterns worked well with the neutral color palette, and even pairing denim on denim was a must-have in this collection. Madewell’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection makes me excited for cooler weather and even cooler fashions.
Since I wanted to keep with the theme of Madewell’s collection, I decided on a white button-up shirt that is longer in the back. Its design allows for extra room, making it an extremely comfortable option and easy to throw on. Even though Madewell’s collection did not show skinny jeans, these are my favorite and I thought it contrasted well with the shirt. The light wash worked with the collection’s theme and the cuts in the knees give the jean the perfect amount of distressing. On my feet, I wanted to pair my camel-colored loafers to complete the overall outfit. No accessories were needed as a far as jewelry goes, but since scarves were a front runner in the collection, I threw on my mom’s vintage green and blue plaid scarf. Minimal makeup gave this look just the right touch to be completed.
