STYLE GURU STYLE: Loose and Baggy Won't Make You Unhappy

I interpret Apiece Apart as a brand that is quirky but sexy at the same time. In previous seasons, there was a specific aesthetic that appealed to me the most: the baggy mood of the outfits. In the resort 2016 collection of Apiece Apart, the baggy aesthetic that I personally love so much still reigns present. In this specific collection, a Middle Eastern influence is evident. The colors, style and details of specific pieces exhibit styles that remind me of Middle Eastern cultures. The baggy looks are cute, quirky and edgy in a subtle way. Baggy clothes have evolved from men’s wear and ’90s styles. Today, Apiece Apart tackles baggy clothes in a way that seems approachable and decent. None of the pieces are form-fitting, but the low V-neck, short dresses and two-piece outfits don’t make us feel like we are covering ourselves with a potato sack.

In my outfit, I wear baggy, gypsy-like pants to resemble some pieces of the collection. The pants are so comfortable but are still very cute. I tuck a white shirt into the pants to reveal the whole pant. To help uniform the aesthetic, I leave my natural wavy hair out with a thick headband (to cover my frizzy roots). The white, chunky gladiator sandals help make the outfit casual so it doesn’t look like I am just rolling out of bed. I accessorize with a simple ring, my everyday gold Casio watch and a black canvas Baggu bag.

Get My Look: 1. Any gypsy-like pant with a cool pattern 2. #RAD sandals. 3. A simple. messy hairdo with a headband to complete the look.
