Anyone who understands fashion knows that Christian Dior is an iconic designer who creates stunning pieces. I decided to take a closer look at Dior’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection and instantly fell in love. My initial reaction was to study the collection to gain inspiration. The beautiful silhouettes, crisp white apparel and standout accessories all grabbed my attention immediately.
I was inspired by one particular look in Dior’s collection, in which the model was strutting down the runway in a gorgeous lace top. I wanted to recreate that look but adjust it to my style in a way that is causal enough so that it can be worn to class. I first paired a white lace blouse from Express with a pair of dark wash denim. For shoes, I am wearing vibrant orchid-colored flats because I couldn’t resist the opportunity to add a pop of color. I’m also wearing raspberry colored eyewear with lipstick to match. Also, for those of you who are wondering, yes those are prescription glasses!
This spring 2015 collection has taught me to experiment more with lace in casual settings. I used to leave the lace behind for eloquent dresses or special occasions. I’ve learned that lace could be just as stylish with a pair of dark wash denim or an edgy leather jacket. This lovely lace look is sweet, feminine and flirty, and I’m going to incorporate this trend much more this spring!
