It comes with no shock that wearing a tank top over a T-shirt is trending in the street fashion world and has been for a while. It’s one of my favored trends, but with trends come my fear of being too unoriginal. My favorite thing to do when it comes to my style is take popular trends and then make it my own. There’s a certain thought process to it, but I believe that’s what makes my style so unique in my eyes.
For example, my thought process in this case would go like this: if plain T-shirts aren’t my thing, what can I replace the basic, white T-shirt with that would give the same effect? I settled for a mesh, floral bodysuit for this outfit. The floral pattern alone screams me, but the mesh adds a fun, unique detail. I don’t own a silk tank that I can just throw over, so instead, I chose something that I already had in my closet. When it comes to my style, I like to work with what I have as much as possible before I go and buy a specific piece. I styled the bodysuit under a scalloped, white tank top that I usually wear alone during the summer.
Usually when my upper body has a lot going on, I like to keep the bottom half of me simple; it balances it out in a nice way. Therefore, in honor of that, I stuck to just dark-wash jeans. I fold up my jeans a lot for two reasons. The first reason is that I’m really short. The second reason is that it allows any cute shoes that I’m wearing to be shown off. In summary, these lace-up heels are my life and they deserved to be shown off.
My sense of style doesn’t always consist of heels, considering I like to be comfortable. When I have a long day, heels are the last thing that I resort to wearing. However, these heels are probably more comfortable than my go-to moccasins—no kidding. I love incorporating trends in my style, but making them my own is even more fun.
