As this is my last STYLE GURU STYLE article, it is only fitting that I sample something that embodies my true style. Over the years, I have explored various trends and imitated various style icons. I can truly say that I have tried everything once. Well, maybe not everything, but my journey with CollegeFashionista, Instagram and Pinterest has been an adventurous one. One cool thing I tried and loved was mixing different prints. This is why I am a huge fan of the Louis Vuitton resort 2016 collection. The collection mixes unexpected materials and patterns together, creating an interesting combination of hard and sweet.
My favorite outfits in this collection feature models in hot shorts and long sleeve tops or jackets. It’s a look that is perfect for the cooler days of summer. Influenced by this look, I decided to pull out my favorite pieces from my wardrobe—my bomber jacket and my ankara denim shorts. Both pieces were purchased around the same time. As they lay side-by-side on my bed, I discovered an unlikely pairing. I have been excited to try it ever since!
What I love most about this collection is how strong all the models look. They stand tall, almost like architectural structures. In order to match this strong look, I finished up my look with a pair of black booties. This look is perfect for a night out or a daytime event. But it can easily be made casual by switching to a pair of sneakers.
