Inspired by Alexis Mabille‘s spring 2015 couture collection, I styled an everyday look. It’s not as elegant and formal as Mabille’s, but one which includes a maxi dress that is perfect for a night out. We all have one item in our closet we’re dying to wear, but it’s not always the right time or place to wear it. Dressing for this winter season means layering as much as possible staying warm. Maxi dresses are known as warmer weather attire, but this week’s STYLE GURU STYLE proves that maxi dresses can be worn all year-round.
Each dress in Mabille’s collection has its own style and no two dresses are alike. I wanted my look to be unlike any other, which is why I added a sweater to layer over my maxi dress. I combined my bold animal print maxi dress and a solid black sweater to create an outfit perfect for day or night. I added a graphic beanie to accessorize and make this look fun. I love wearing a nice pair of heels with my outfits. These heels are still casual and give my look a nice balance of color.
The good news is that the maxi dress hidden in your closet can now be styled. Maxi dresses have the potential to be worn every season. It depends on how creative you want to be while putting together your outfit. If two items look like they don’t belong, you’d be surprised how well they fit together.
