All of us Fashionista/os have a favorite season-that being runway season. We get to see the upcoming fashion trends that will be sweeping the fashion world and how are favorite designers will make us all want to wear what they have designed! After viewing this season’s shows, I feel in love with Alexander McQueen’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. The collection was unlike any other collection I have ever seen before with floral patterns, dark embroidered denims and loads of textured clothing. Creative Director, Sarah Burton’s spring 2016 designs encompass elegance, fun and casual in an inspiring way.
One trend that grabbed my attention was the use of denim. Now, of course, denim is a fabric that we always use in our day-to-day routines; but more recently, denim has been incorporated in not only jeans, but skirts and shirts as well! Another feature in her collection, along with denim, was her use of embroidered floral patterns. I love floral patterns, and I feel that it is the perfect way to add a touch of femininity to your look. Burton’s use of the denim fabrics with the floral patterns combines femininity and edge in an interesting way.
With that in mind, my take on this trend tries to incorporate the two elements. I translated the collection by making my accent a denim skirt and matching it with a light floral top, kimono jacket and a black hat to top it off! To add some shine to my outfit, I wore a three layered necklace that tied my look together. Her designs tend to incorporate fun colors and patterns, and in order to translate that I had to be willing to be out going with my look! My attire makes me feel fun, edgy and as if I am wearing a piece of the Alexander McQueen collection!
