I always find myself gravitating toward Australian based boutiques and their online clothing stores because I feel that they have a very flirty fit and unique, loud patterns. Most of the pieces have a very beachy vibe, which is always so fun to incorporate into your summer wardrobe.
Josh Goot, an Australian designer based in Sydney and Melbourne, caught my eye for this look. His pieces are so different from anything I have ever seen, which led me to gain inspiration from his resort 2016 ready-to-wear collection. “His style was once bodycon, the designer is now focusing on more grown up, fluid constructions worn in layers, as in a beguiling ‘evening sport’ teal-and-white apron dress that cinched at the hip, or a white tailored jacket and pants with black piping that Goot called “a wardrobe unto itself,” says Style.com.
The collection consists of black and white, very structured geometric shapes and detailing on the garments. I love the simplicity throughout the looks but they manage to also be incredibly elegant. I decided to play up the modern simplicity in Josh Goot’s 2016 collection by wearing solid black and white. My top is a form fitting crop top that looks great with so many different things. If you are having trouble pairing your crop tops, I recommend to always incorporate another piece that has a high-waisted line. I paired the white top with a black cinched trouser and added a black metallic bag for some texture.
Whenever I find myself wearing all-neutrals, I love to play up my lip color and keep the rest of my makeup very natural. Go for a bold fuchsia or an orange/red for the summertime!
