Miu Miu’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear show was one for the books. My favorite part? The patterns! Mixing patterns is probably one of my favorite fashion trends and something I am doing constantly. Even better, it’s officially spring, which, in my head, is the season of prints. Miu Miu did a wonderful job incorporating this trend into their fall line. The show displayed an emphasis on animal print and the houndstouth pattern. They skillfully layer the patterns over button downs and skirts. The pieces are beyond creative and so fashion forward. I cannot wait to try out this look in the fall, but for right now I am taking this inspiration in a spring-like direction.
Miu Miu’s collection is fab, but I wanted to put my own spin on the looks to make them more spring appropriate. I went for a boho feel, creating an outfit that could be worn for a day in the city or for the upcoming festival season. I love to be creative when mixing patterns, but my go-to’s are floral and stripes. I paired my floral kimono with a black and white striped crop top. The black fringe of the kimono perfectly complements the black in the striped top. I loved Miu Miu’s use of pointed toe heels, so I incorporated my own pointed toe flats. This was the perfect touch, as their gold chain around the ankle tied together my turquoise and gold accessories.
Miu Miu’s show was a great example of mixing patterns, and had me thinking of new ways I can carry out this trend into the spring, summer and fall! Having multiple prints in your look is an easy way to add some creativity and uniqueness to your everyday style. It is so simple, and such a timeless trend.
