I’m no stranger to rocking midi skirts and midi dresses, especially with a blazer. Instead of my typical midi look, I tried a trend I’ve never tried before, metallic. I’ve never been much of a metallic person because it isn’t my style. I was inspired by Public School’s resort 2016 looks to step out of my fashion comfort zone and try something new. The monochromatic theme that is seen throughout this collection inspired me to put this outfit together.
The casual, everyday looks in this collection are easy to emulate. Look 16 inspired me to wear my metallic silver dress as a loose tank top while pairing it with a gray midi skirt. The gray hues weren’t enough for me, which is why I added nudes to the outfit. My lightweight, tan jacket and tan wedges mixed well with the metallic and gave my outfit more depth. Seeing as the collection consisted of nude pieces, I knew that my wedges and jacket would add just enough to my look.
Too many accessories weren’t needed for this look because the metallic top adds so much personality to the ensemble. I stacked my wrist with my everyday watch and bracelet stack, including my favorite Wrist Soirée bracelet that was just enough with the metallic and nude detailing. I also wore mirrored shades that had colored hues, which complemented the rest of my pieces.
This outfit taught me to not be afraid of stepping out of my fashion comfort zone. I was able to try a new trend by sporting my favorite basics, a midi and wedges. Before summer ends, try a trend you never thought you would’ve. You won’t regret it!
