Marc Jacobs’ spring and summer 2015 ready-to-wear line features military-inspired fashion and a twist to the utilitarian style. Jacobs incorporates cargo pockets and large embellishments but sticks to the classic color scheme of black, navy, brown and dark green. Part of what I loved about those looks were the fact that Jacobs took something very uniform and translated it to a look that is very edgy, yet functional and fashionable. I have always been a fan of the utilitarian-inspired look as well as the darker color scheme that this trend uses so it was really easy to incorporate this into my look for the spring and summer.
Joggers are by far one of my favorite types of pants. They are comfortable but can still be dressed up with the right pieces and can be stylish in many different colors and patterns. As a fan of darker colors, I fell in love with this olive green pair. The fabric is lighter, which makes them perfect for warmer weather and the color gives it some edge.
Marc Jacobs’ line incorporated large gold buttons throughout his pieces. This gave it the military inspired touch. I incorporated this into my look by adding a gold bib necklace that gives more detail to the overall look. Lastly, I finished off my look with black wedges, which are one of my favorite pair of shoes right now. This pair goes with anything and can be worn year-round!
