Go ahead and call me boring, but black is by far my favorite color to wear. It’s a classic. It goes with everything, flatters just about every body type, and it never goes out of style. If there’s something I like, I usually tend to stick to it, so I don’t think a day goes by where there isn’t a piece of black clothing on my body.
With this look, I didn’t stray far from the black spectrum and paired two black pieces with a cozy, gray turtleneck sweater. I’ll be honest, I never pictured myself as someone who wears turtlenecks, but they’re so warm and completely delete the need for a scarf, so what’s not to love? They’re a big part of my winter wardrobe, and for those of you who aren’t familiar with Indiana weather, they could definitely make a few appearances in the spring too. On this particular day, it wasn’t terribly cold, so I decided to tuck my sweater into a black, wrap skirt. The skirt is simple, but adds just the right amount of detail to the outfit to make a monochromatic look a little more interesting.
Maybe my favorite thing about this entire look are the shoes. Over-the-knee boots have become extremely popular over the past year or so and could be worn in a variety of ways. Whether they’re worn with skinny jeans or a T-shirt dress, these boots will be the highlight of any outfit. I really don’t wear too many accessories on a everyday basis, but this super simple look could be easily spiced up with some brighter jewelry or a clutch with a pop of color to make it perfect for a night out.
