STYLE GURU STYLE: Monochrome Madness

We rummage through the countless clothing items in our wardrobes, and still claim that we have nothing to wear. Nothing seems to match correctly, and everything appears to be worn countless times. When I am stuck in this rut, I grab an easy go-to monochrome outfit. It matches, it is flattering and it is incredibly street-chic which is perfect for any event.  Luckily, runway shows across the globe have been tipping us fashion followers that wearing all one color is more than okay.

Drawing inspiration from Givenchy’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection, my monochrome outfit featured lace aspects and long coats. Surprisingly, I stuck to a nude color pallet rather than black which took me out of my comfort zone. This created a more casual look for daily wear along with the utilization of pants rather than a maxi skirt. The edgy and exciting vibe of Givenchy is something that will constantly inspire the way I style outfits, and the unmatched genius of Riccardo Tisci allows their collections to constantly stay on the top of global fashion trends.

My outfit featuring easy Forever 21 pieces takes a nude top with a white lace overlay and wide leg pants in a similar nude shade to appeal to the monochrome trend. To add to the overall look, I paired a long camel coat with ballet flats which warmed up the outfit and kept it on the comfortable side, which made it perfect to run errands..
