Confession number one: I love Kanye. Few people, if any, create as much hype in the music and fashion industries as he does. Even if his most recent collection, Yeezy fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, was extremely similar to his original two shows, Yeezy Season Three created interest in fashion and music lovers alike. His take on the traditional runway is captivating as models stand for literal hours on end; however, don’t let this dramatic presentation distract from the clothes themselves. Neutrals have never looked so cool. Body suits, high heels and bomber jackets, how can you not feel like a total baddie dressed like that?
Confession number two: I can’t rock a monochromatic look like Kimye can and, try as I might, I am too much of a preppy southerner to be able to rock bomber jackets in the middle of the summer. While staying true to the neutrals that define Kanye’s lines, I decided that the look needed more of a personal touch. In order to break the neutrals up a bit, I opted for white skinny jeans because as much as I wish I could, wearing head-to-toe skin tones is not very flattering on me. Also, unlike Yeezy, I absolutely love to accessorize and I felt like my outfit needed something else to complete the look. Instead of adding layers for depth like he notoriously does, I threw on a full-length tassel necklace and a monogramed cross-body to make this look more preppy and appear more put together.
