My personal style can be described in one word: chic. I wear clothing that I feel comfortable and confident in, and those pieces are usually simple and sophisticated. I then add in a bold touch with a dark matte lipstick. This ensemble perfectly exemplifies my personal style and personality.
With one of my top favorite runway shows being the Alexandre Vauthier fall 2014 couture collection, one can only assume that I am all about showing some skin. In this particular collection, Vauthier primarily uses lightweight and see-through fabrics, such as sheer and mesh, in each one of his pieces. In order to sustain a chic appearance, Vauthier’s collection mostly sticks to the classic black and white color scheme, with a few bold colors, such as red and yellow, in a couple of pieces. The collection as a whole can be defined as sexy, sophisticated and drop dead chic.
As I mentioned before, I enjoy wearing items that reveal some skin. With that said, my Lolli Couture black long-sleeve bodysuit shows the perfect amount of skin without actually showing it all off due to the fact that the fabric is mesh; hence, I like to call my bodysuit a skin teaser. In one particular outfit of Vauthier’s collection, model Grace Mahary wore a sheer black top with a white blazer and white pants. This ensemble definitely inspired me to recreate the look by wearing a black bodysuit with white trouser pants from Express. To make this look be more for an everyday wear, I wore my Calvin Klein camel coat to bear the Chicago winter weather. Finally, I topped off my look with ShoeMint black booties and a dark purple lip to add a touch of edge.
