A pop of color is a great way to take any outfit from drab to fab. Pairing neutrals with bright colors is a great way to accessorize when you are not in to jewelry. Colorful prints or purses are also a great idea when putting together your chic summer look. Bright and electric neon colors are especially great for summer! They are a great way to mix punk and preppy into one unique style.
I have never been one to wear bright, neon colors. However, when I saw Louis Vuitton’s spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection, that changed my perspective about these colors. I really wanted to focus on the use of colors and patterns more than the style of dress. This collection inspired me to pair a pop of color with a solid or neutral tote. Since my strapless dress was a bright and bold pattern, I opted for the solid brown tote with flip flops to not take any attention from the dress. For accessories, I went with a simple ring and bracelet because there was already so much going on. To finish off this simple, preppy look, I pulled my hair back into a simple ponytail to match the models simplistic styles.
A sundress is always a good addition to any summer wardrobe. If you are looking for something a little more simple, a solid sundress with a statement necklace is always a good way to go. Now throw on some heels and a smile and you are ready to rock these last few weeks of summer in style.
